Tom Kluding named “2021 Outstanding Alumni” at North Central State College
October 21 – MANSFIELD – Tom Kluding, of Norwalk, was announced as a “2021 Outstanding Alumni” at North Central State College in Mansfield.
The event took place earlier this month.
A plaque will be permanently displayed on the college’s main campus. He will read:

Tom Kluding thanks NC State for opening the door to his career in education: “My associate degree has given me the most opportunities. He laid the foundation for my future.
After earning a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Ashland University, he worked with the Pioneer Career and Technology Center, the Ashland County West Holmes Career Center and the EHOVE Career Center.
He was the coordinator of the High School That Works (HSTW) initiative in 16 states of the Southern Region Education Board network.
Kluding became director of College Tech Prep at NC State, later becoming the chief administrator of the central region of College Tech Prep serving sixteen technical career planning districts spanning fourteen counties.
After serving as Director of Dual Enrollment at Pima Community College in Tucson AZ, he returned home to work with Lorain County Community College, Pioneer CTC, and the Northwest Region HSTW hosted at the University of Toledo.
Kluding has served on the Norwalk Town School Board of Schools and the EHOVE Career Center School Board; and a volunteer with the Huron County Board of Elections and the Fisher-Titus Memorial Hospital.
Tom is a proud Vietnam Veteran who served honorably for four years in the US Air Force. He is a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a member of the American Legion and the Knights of Columbus.
