and revitalizing an urban core just outside of downtown. But with its urban aspirations come urban problems, including growing numbers of homeless people, rising development costs and more. In this Bend Don’t Break podcast, Chris Starling of the relatively new Bend Central District Business Association speaks with Editor Aaron Switzer about BCD concerns and opportunities, as Editor-in-Chief Nicole Vulcan listens.
Chris Starling is co-owner of Arbor Mortgage Group with business partner Rob Moore and has been a senior loan officer for over 17 years. He is also a co-owner of commercial property in the Bend Central District area and has been a board member of the Bend Central District Business Association since January 2022. Starling served on the board of Shepherds House for eight years in plus being the CFO and Chairman of the Property Committee. He enjoys travelling, fly fishing, water skiing and camping and is a foodie who enjoys cooking. Married with four children, Starling has lived in Bend for over 23 years.
