Eight Medway high school students accepted to Central District senior concert festival

For immediate release

MEDWAY – Principal John Murray is pleased to announce that eight students from the Medway High School Choir and Band have been accepted to attend the Massachusetts Music Educators Association (MMEA) Central District Senior Concert Festival.

Student musicians from across central Massachusetts were invited to audition for the festival by submitting a video performance.

Medway High School students Matt Bullard, Rebecca Chleboski, Liv Dwyer, Lucas Farlow, Sienna Flotta and Grace Gerard were invited to the Senior Concert Festival for choir. Abigail Brown, who plays the trumpet, and William George, who plays the clarinet, were invited to the Festival for orchestra.

Gerard, Dwyer, Farlow, Bullard and George also received sheet music that qualifies them to audition for the MMEA All-State Festival ensembles later this winter.

“. “It is a valuable experience for our students to participate in the festival and to work with instructors and students from across the region, and we look forward to seeing our students perform as part of the Senior Concert Festival every year. ”

The Central District Senior Concert Festival will be virtual again in 2022. Although additional details are still being confirmed, students will receive music to participate in a virtual rehearsal. They will then submit a recording of their part after the virtual rehearsal and the recordings will then be combined into a full virtual performance.
