2023: Governorate Ticket from PDP Zones to Plateau Central District

The Plateau chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) zoned his gubernatorial ticket to the Central Senatorial District.

John Akans, publicity secretary for the PDP in the state, revealed this in a statement released on Saturday.

Akans said the decision was made on Saturday at the 85th meeting of the state executive committee (SEC) held in Jos, the capital of Plateau.

“In preparation for the upcoming 2023 general election, the SEC unanimously approves the zoning of the seat of governorship in the Plateau Central Senatorial District,” the statement said.

“The SEC commends the efforts of the Party State leadership and other organs of our great party; caucus, members of the National Assembly, elders forum and party structure at ward, local government and zonal levels.

“He welcomes the commitment of the State Work Committee (SWC), under the chairmanship of Mr. Christopher Hassan, to unite and reposition the PDP ahead of the 2023 general election.

“The SEC also congratulates party members on the victory recorded in the last by-election in Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency and Pankshin South State Constituency.

“Therefore, the SEC instructs all party members across the state to work hard to secure victory in the 2023 general election.”

Akans added that the PDP will address the challenges affecting the state when it takes power in 2023.
